Webpage!!!

My goal
is to create a safe, enjoyable environment for learning and growth in the
visual arts. I look forward to working with your child this year! All
students at St. Stephen participate in art for 38 minutes once a week. Art work
is displayed on the hallway bulletin boards and display case. St Stephen School
student art work will also be on display for the months of July and August at
the Grand Island Memorial Library, community room.

The
art process can be very messy at times. Each student should come to art wearing
their smocks. A large short sleeved T-shirt works the best.
Sometimes
the success of your child’s art making depends on items that can be collected
from home. If you have something not on the list, but looks like it would be of
interest in the art room, feel free to drop it off and we will decide!

This
year your child will be looking at art, reading about art, and talking about
art, to learn about other cultures, places, and works of art. The students will
be trying different media and techniques and learning about famous artists.
Your child will be making art to create expressive visual images.
